A. Cohen, Psy.D. received his Bachelor's degree in psychology
from The Ohio State University and his Doctorate degree in Clinical
Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Cohen has
training and expertise in working with both children and adults.
Dr. Cohen has spent many years working in private practice as
well as consulting for a variety of agencies. Dr. Cohen splits
his practice between providing counseling and performing psychological
evaluations and testing. In the realm of counseling and psychotherapy,
Dr. Cohen is skilled at working with children, adolescents,
adults, and the elderly. He provides individual counseling as
well as working with couples, families, and running group therapy.
He has extensive experience both evaluating and treating injured
workers in workers' compensation cases.
Dr. Cohen takes a multi-modal approach and uses a variety of
techniques to tailor treatment to the individual's needs. Dr.
Cohen has experience working with issues of depression, anxiety,
phobias, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder,
adjustment disorders, attention deficit disorders, parenting
skills, psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, divorce and custody
issues, weight loss, motivation, and performance anxiety. He
has worked with the courts on many cases involving custody issues,
court ordered counseling, children's services, and guardianship
evaluations. In the realm of psychological assessment and testing,
Dr. Cohen performs evaluations for learning disabilities, attention
deficit disorders, dementia, cognitive impairment, personality
evaluation, and diagnostic clarification. He also provides evaluations
for workers' compensation cases, social security disability,
vocational rehabilitation, and other personal injury and legal
cases. Dr. Cohen has consulted for numerous local agencies as
well as schools and colleges, providing psychological assessment,
testing, and treatment. |
