A
graduate of The Ohio State University, Ms. Walker achieved
a Master's degree in Social Work. She is both a Licensed Independent
Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over
25 years of experience in the mental health field. Prior to
joining Spectrum Psychological Associates, Inc., she had worked
for 7 years at Laurelwood Hospital & Counseling Centers doing
individual, marital, and group therapy. In addition, she has
served as adjunct faculty for The Ohio State University and
Case Western Reserve College. She also is a licensed Nursing
Home Administrator, having worked in that capacity in Ohio
and Florida.
Ms. Walker specializes in working with adolescents (ages 14
and above), adults, couples, and older adults and their families.
Treatment modalities include Dialectical Behavior Therapy
and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She specializes in treating
depression, anxiety, marital problems, chemical dependency,
as well as bipolar disorder, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive
disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, work related stress,
anger management issues, weight management concerns, plus
grief and loss.
Additionally, Ms. Walker has extensive experience in presenting
on a variety of mental and health and aging topics at workshops
and conferences. She is a certified Non-Violent Crisis Prevention
trainer. She is very interested in critical incident stress
debriefing. |
